Supporting the Learning Support Centre’s Clients

Earlier this week we posted “Who are the Learning Support Centre?” and further to this we want to explain exactly how do we support our clients.

Once a referral has been received a member of our friendly team will contact the client to explain which type of support has been recommended. This could be Study Skills, Assistive Technology Training, Note Taking or Job Coaching etc. They will then be matched to the person who will support them and will receive an email to confirm what has been discussed. Clients are then aware of their support worker and who their point of contact is within the office team.

The support we provide in education is usually funded via Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) and this process begins when filling out forms to apply for a student loan.

We have a city centre based office where clients are encouraged to visit.
