Working with an Award Winning Company

This blog has been written by Jessica Barnes, a second year Education, Psychology and Counselling student from Sheffield Hallam University who did a work placement with us for 8 weeks.

“I started an adventure a few weeks ago.  With the aim to experience a view into the working world. I applied and received a work placement, alongside my university degree with the Learning Support Centre.

I have been working amongst the office team to develop the companies’ resources and projects and have been made to feel like part of the team through their welcoming nature and developmental strategies to aid me to become a better, more confident worker.

I found out on my last day that the Learning Support Centre had won at the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.

The Leicester Mercury Business Awards recognise all of the hard work and innovation put in by businesses within Leicester and Leicestershire.

I find this win a well-deserved triumph for the company and its support staff. The company goes above and beyond to aid those with disabilities; whilst on placement I have seen so much initiative to make the company grow and develop the best support for its students.

Well done; to the Learning Support Centre. In my opinion; you earned it. It was an absolute pleasure to be working with you these past 8 weeks. Thank you.”
