LSC Care

Marcus Rowe

In 2010 The Learning Support Centre set up LSC Care, our Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered domiciliary care agency. This provision was established based on a continual request from parents, students and university staff at De Montfort University.

Historically, students were accessing academic support and personal care from personal care companies, of which staff profiles tended to be people with no experience of higher education. This was problematic for students studying undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

In 2010 we turned this model on its head, and recruited graduates at a higher hourly rate and trained them in personal care.  Our first inspection by the CQC was at registration level and the inspector was impressed by our knowledge and understanding of client need and our innovative approach. We had the resources available to recruit a specialist Care Coordinator to turn what had been a long term vision of ours into reality.

We are the only organisations amongst our competitors that can provide all support services to students.

Don’t just take our word for how great we think our care provision and other services we offer are take a look at what our clients have to say on our website http://learningsupportcentre.com/personal-care-support
