Environmentally friendly universities

Green Impact is an initiative run within universities and institutions to encourage being environmentally friendly. It works by filling in an on-line workbook comprising of 21 questions which focus on things such as reducing and reusing waste, recycling, electricity awareness, heating and travel.

The Learning Support Centre were approached to take part and the auditors were very impressed by how we have embraced the project and told us that some of the methods we implemented had never been seen before!

An awards ceremony was held in the Trinity House Chapel on 12th May with Donna Welburn and Joanne Hancock in attendance. The Learning Support Centre achieved a Bronze award and were given a special mention to bring to everyone’s attention that we moved offices during the process.

Due to the success of the Bronze award The Learning Support Centre will almost certainly work towards the Silver award next year.
