Support we provide

Why should I use The Learning Support Centre for my support?

  • We have a robust matching process, ensuring you are matched to a support worker, mentor, tutor or trainer who understands your needs.
  • All our support staff have training, have been through our induction and have relevant experience and/or qualifications to undertake the specific support.
  • Confidentiality is paramount so accessing our support services can be done discretely if required.
  • Our Leicester office has education support rooms with computer and Internet access. Local students can have support off campus and at our offices if preferred.
  • Our senior team has experience managing Higher and Further Education support services. We have excellent relationships with the universities, colleges and funding bodies enabling us to successfully problem solve and signpost as required.
  • We understand that different courses have different requirements on your time. In addition to face-to-face support, we can offer remote support via Skype, Zoom, MS Teams or telephone between 9am and 9pm, 7 days a week.

Funding Support

Support is usually funded through the Disabled Students’ Allowance or Access to Work although some people choose to pay privately. If you use our service to access a support worker, we will invoice your funding body directly and deal with all the employment requirements of your support worker, such as recruitment, payment of tax and national insurance.
