This combined role means continuity for students as they have the same Personal Assistant throughout the day, with the added reassurance that they will receive quality academic support. Personal Assistants can support with transition into student/work life, assistance with organising academic timetables/time management and everyday/social living support. All support is tailored to the person’s individual needs and the service user is consulted at every stage of the planning and delivery of the person-centred support package.
The service is available from Monday to Friday 8:30am – 6:30pm (except bank holidays).
The Learning Support Centre Ltd believe in a student-led approach. However, some students may be unable to uphold their rights and protect themselves from harm and abuse. They may have high dependency needs and yet be unable to hold services to account for the quality of care they receive. In such cases, The Learning Support Centre Ltd have particular responsibilities to ensure that those students receive high quality care and that their rights are upheld, including their right to be safe. Safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults is at the centre of this agenda.
