Level 2 – Note Taking for Disabled Students in Higher Education

presentation

Summary

Our one-day course offers delegates the opportunity to:

  • discuss with their peers existing practice
  • reflect on their own note taking experience
  • learn new strategies and discuss how different environments affect their approach to note taking.

In the disability awareness section of the course, we discuss the importance of reasonable adjustments and inclusivity, the power of language and the barriers many disabled students may face when they transition to Higher Education.

The course covers key areas such as confidentiality, data protection, GDPR, safeguarding and signposting to enable delegates to ensure they are working within the boundaries of their role as a note taker.

The Learning Support Centre is an OCN London approved training centre and this course is recognised for the purposes of registering with the Department for Education as a Manual Notetaker.
